    In late 2016, Louie was diagnosed with stage IV renal failure after experiencing symptoms that led to a series of medical tests. This diagnosis marked the beginning of a challenging journey.

    Dialysis Start

    By early 2017, Louie began dialysis treatment, which became a critical part of his daily routine. Despite the challenges, he remained determined to stay positive and focused on his health.

    Transplant Evaluation

    In late 2024, after years of treatment, Louie was evaluated for a kidney transplant at the Mayo Clinic. This evaluation was a pivotal step that offered new hope for his recovery.

    Successful Transplant

    We will depart May 30, 2025, for Rochester, MN to await the call. We are hopeful that by the fall, Louie will undergo kidney transplant surgery at the Mayo Clinic. This surgical intervention will give Louie a second chance at life and wellness.
